Stephen Thurman wrote the words. Catherine Thurman designed the graphics. Through their partnership in life and in art, Arts Alive has carried on for over 30 years.

Charlotte Carver is the founder of the South Dakota Arts Council and recruited the Sioux Falls couple to promote local arts through the Arts Alive magazine. Now, the Thurmans will receive the Charlotte Carver Honorary Award for Outstanding Service to the Arts Community at the Governor’s Awards in the Arts.
