A newly elected bishop of the United Methodist Church is visiting several South Dakota communities.
Lanette Plambeck began serving as bishop of the Dakotas and Minnesota on Jan. 1.
She’ll visit the Watertown United Methodist Church Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., according to a press release from the United Methodists Church of the Dakotas
Sunday, Plambeck is visiting Sioux Falls First United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. She'll then stop by Sioux Falls Sunnycrest from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Plambeck then travels to Brookings that afternoon where she’ll visit Brookings First United Methodist Church at 3 p.m.
Prior to her election as bishop, Plambeck served as assistant to the bishop and director of clergy for the United Methodist Church's Iowa conference.
