'Bighorn Visions' explores U.S. history through a photographer's lens

This interview originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

Jessamine Spear Johnson documented the changes of the early twentieth century through her camera lens.

Those photographs are now published in "Bighorn Visions: The Photography of Jessamine Spear Johnson." The South Dakota Historical Society Press publication is written by the photographer's granddaughter.

Author Tempe Javitz returns to In the Moment with more stories of her grandmother and her photography.

She'll give a virtual History Talks presentation on her grandmother on Thursday. Learn more.
