Stuart Schmidt retells Hugh Glass' tale to a crowd of families

LaQuita Shockley is an organizer for the Hugh Glass Rendezvous and the owner of the Dakota Herald, the local paper. She said it’s a great chance to get the family some fresh air.

Things like arrowhead hunts, period appropriate outfits and campsites, and demonstrations of pioneer-era flintlock firearms are all on the docket for guests this year.

Festivities run through Sunday.
