Ellen Shirley is the artistic director for the Rapid City Dakota Choral Union. She has held the position for two years and led many concerts.
In April she and the DCU performed "Circlesong - and Other Songs of Life." The music is Bob Chilcott's musical portrayal of the human life cycle. The performance was inspired by Gospel music and North American indigenous poetry and songs.
