"Bootjack," published by Pasque Press, the publishing arm of the South Dakota State Poetry Society, is a collection of 70 poems that span nearly the entirety of South Dakota poet John S. Nelson's career.

Nelson is a retired professor of English for New Media at Dakota State University in Madison. A native of Fort Pierre, South Dakota, he writes about work, travel, and other human and celestial activities.

Nelson joins "In the Moment" for a conversation with Lori Walsh about capturing a moment in time with language.

You find John's book "Bootjack" online or in local South Dakota bookstores.

Lori Walsh is a special correspondent with SDPB and host of the "In the Moment" podcast.
