2018 South Dakota Football Championships, Friday Results

Day two of the state football championships consisted of three more games. Colome in Class 9B, Sioux Falls Christian in Class 11B, and Pierre in Class 11AA all won state titles.

Class 9B

Colome defeated Sully Buttes 48-42 in an overtime thriller to win the Class 9B state football championship.

Class 11B

Sioux Falls Christian defeated Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan 43-8 in the Class 11B State Championship game. It’s the second straight state title for the Chargers football program.

Class 11AA

Pierre defeated Huron 38-20 on Friday to win the Class 11AA state football championship. This is the second straight title for the Governors football program and the third overall.

Nate Wek is currently the sports content producer and sports and rec beat reporter for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism Broadcasting and a minor in Leadership. From 2010-2013 Nate was the Director of Gameday Media for the Sioux Falls Storm (Indoor Football League) football team. He also spent 2012 and 2013 as the News and Sports Director of KSDJ Radio in Brookings, SD. Nate, his wife Sarah, and three sons, Braxan, Jordy, and Anders live in Canton, SD.
