On Monday, STATS released its preseason football poll for the Football Championship Subdivision league. North Dakota State currently sits at the No. 1 spot, while South Dakota State is ranked at No. 3. Even though, the University of South Dakota didn’t eclipse the Top-25, they still came in with 27 votes.
In 2018, South Dakota State University finished with an 8-2 regular season record. The Jackrabbits advanced to the semi-final round of the FCS Playoffs where they were defeated by North Dakota State, who went on to win their seventh National FCS Title. SDSU will open their 2019 campaign on Thursday August 29 in Minneapolis against the University of Minnesota.
The University of South Dakota finished 2018 with an overall record of 4-7. They'll open up regular season play in 2019 at home against Montana on Saturday August 31.
