Some players at the 2016 SDHSAA Golf Championships are using rangefinders - hand held devices that can provide a wealth of information about distances and other environmental conditions on the course.
Two years ago, using a rangefinder would get you disqualified.
in 2013, the South Dakota High School Athletic Association changed it's thinking and it's policy. In the video clip below, SDHSAA Assistant Director John Krogstrand explains the reason for the change and talks about one or two technologies that are still prohibited.
