More tech jobs expected in Innovation District

This interview originally aired on "In the Moment" on SDPB Radio.

City, business and university leaders came together in 2016 with visions of creating an Innovation District near South Dakota Mines. Those plans are starting to become a reality.

The district is expected to bring 100 new tech jobs to the area by the end of the year. James Rankin, president of South Dakota Mines, discusses how the work students do at his university can translate into jobs in the Black Hills.

Lori Walsh is a special correspondent with SDPB and host of the "In the Moment" podcast.
Ellen Koester served as a producer of "In the Moment," SDPB's daily news and culture broadcast.
