South Dakota gas prices down year-to-year

Gas prices remained flat across South Dakota over the past several weeks, but they remain sharply lower than they were a year ago.

The state's average is around $3.27 per gallon, according to the latest GasBuddy report. That's over 60 cents cheaper than the March 2022 average of $3.88.

The national average for a gallon of gas is $3.40, while the average for diesel is $4.25.

GasBuddy compiled historical March gas prices in South Dakota from the past 10 years:
