The Environmental Protection Agency is awarding South Dakota more than $3.6 million for water infrastructure projects.
The money comes from the Biden Administration's Infrastructure Law and is distributed through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.
It’ll go towards projects like wastewater and stormwater systems.
"Too many communities across the country are facing challenges with water infrastructure – from climate impacts like drought vulnerability, to a lack of basic wastewater services that everyone deserves," said EPA Administrator Michael Regan. "President Biden's Investing in America Agenda is getting unprecedented investments in clean water to communities that need them most."
Regan said these projects create good-paying jobs while developing a clean-energy economy that makes communities more resilient.
