The price of a gallon of fuel rose week-to-week in South Dakota, though the state's average remains below the national average.

The state's average price for gasoline is around $3.48, according to AAA's latest report. The national average is around $3.54.

South Dakota's average rose about a penny from last week and a few cents from last month. However, it remains substantially lower than this time last summer, when the average was around $4.68.

Diesel is around $3.69 in the state, about 14 cents lower than the national average.
