Starting in 2024, transportation company Via will provide transit management services for Sioux Falls.
The city started a search in July for a new service to reimagine Sioux Fall’s public transit.
City officials say Via will bring innovation to transit, particularly through technology.
Via already works with 600 cities globally.
"We share Sioux Falls' vision for a public transit system that is flexible, convenient, and inclusive," said Alex Lavoie, Via's chief operating officer.
The city's current transit service, First Transit/Transdev, will continue to provide services through the end of the year.
Major changes to current city transit are not expected until later in 2024.
