This interview originally aired on "In the Moment" on SDPB Radio.

South Dakota's cattle producers are an important part of the beef supply chain. A class at the SDSU Extension helps them better understand their role.

The program, called beefSD, is a two-year intensive dive into how producers can better manage common changes that impact their industry.

We take a look into the future of beef with Ken Olson, a professor and SDSU Extension beef specialist, and Krista Ehlert, an assistant professor and SDSU Extension range specialist.

Lori Walsh is a special correspondent with SDPB and host of the "In the Moment" podcast.
Ellen Koester served as a producer of "In the Moment," SDPB's daily news and culture broadcast.
Ari Jungemann served as a producer of In the Moment, SDPB's daily news and culture broadcast.
