SDDOT launches program to fund airport terminal improvements

The South Dakota Department of Transportation has announced a new program to support airport terminal projects.

During the last legislative session, a bill allocated $10 million to enhance South Dakota’s aviation infrastructure.

These funds are for construction reimbursement only. For a project to be considered for the South Dakota Airport Terminal Program it must meet the following criteria:

• Projects must be part of the Airport Capital Improvement Plan or included in the National Plan of Integrated Airports submitted yearly to the state.
• Projects must receive federal funding through at least one year of Airport Improvement Program federal entitlements and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Airport Infrastructure Grant allocation.
• Projects must not have been completed by the application deadline and must be scheduled to receive federal grants by Monday, Sept. 30, 2025.

Applications are due by June 10.
