The state Unified Judicial System is warning the public about another jury duty scam.

In this phone and email scam, people pose as law enforcement and falsely claim that the recipient missed jury duty, owes fines, and faces being arrested if they don’t pay.

Officials said the scam is designed to pressure victims into providing personal information or making immediate payments to avoid arrest.

They said the state’s circuit courts send jury duty summons to people via mail—never by phone or email—and they’ll never call anyone to demand money in any form.

Anyone who receives a jury duty scam phone call or email should report it to the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division at 1-800-300-1986 or [email protected].
