Nonprofit organizations have until Oct. 21 to register to take part in this year’s South Dakota Day of Giving.
This year, the Day of Giving aligns with the nationally recognized Giving Tuesday, which falls on Dec. 3.
“The South Dakota Day of Giving celebrates the incredible amount of good work happening across South Dakota” said Nora Leinen of South Dakota Gives. “We know that everyday South Dakotans are working hard to make their communities better. Whether caring for animals, providing meals, or creating economic opportunities. SD Day of Giving allows us to highlight these amazing organizations and invites all South Dakotans to be apart of the generosity we know is a central value of our state and communities."
Day of Giving officials said non-profits that sign up receive information and toolkits to run a successful campaign and registered non-profits get a chance to win money through a prize pool.
All funds raised go directly to the non-profits themselves and participation is free.
