Mark Shadley, lead investigator/researcher of Black Hills Paranormal Investigations, and co-author of “Haunted Deadwood: A True Wild West Ghost Town,” joins Dakota Midday. Shadley retired in 2008 after serving thirty years as a southern California police office. He and his wife, Peggy, a retired crime scene investigator, moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota where they became members of Black Hills Paranormal Investigations. His interest in the paranormal field was peaked over thirty years ago when he experienced something he believed was paranormal. Because of his background he’s a skeptic who believes there are often environmental reasons for some claims of paranormal activity. He also ascribes to Ockham’s razor when dealing with the paranormal, simply stated; when all things are equal, the simplest solution is the best.
