A company expanding to Rapid City plans to create up to 150 jobs, according to a news release.

SatCom Marketing is based in Minneapolis. It does sales work for the broadband and telecommunications industries.

The company will open a call center in an existing building at 809 Deadwood Ave. in northwest Rapid City. A news release said the office “is nearing completion this week and the next step will be to begin hiring.”

Bob Bedford, COO of SatCom Marketing, said in the news release, “South Dakota and Rapid City are just what we were looking for. Well-educated, hard-working people, reasonable taxes, a low cost of living and a business climate that appreciates the jobs we bring to the area. We feel like Rapid City is the perfect location for us.”

Elevate Rapid City helped the company find a space to lease. Elevate is a local economic development partnership.

The news release said jobs start at $13 per hour, and average pay with commission ranges from $14 to $18 per hour.
