My son, when he was an early learner, was the definition of a picky eater. It was almost impossible to feed him anything beyond his half-dozen favorite foods. He loved grilled cheese but would not touch a ham and cheese sandwich. He loved mac and cheese from a box, but try to make it from scratch and he wouldn’t touch it. He loved cereal but only if it was dry without milk! We worried that he was not getting the nutrition that he needed and that it would stunt his growth. It also put a real strain on an already busy family trying to meet everyone’s dietary needs at mealtime. I wish I would have had this article from Healthychildren.org that helps parents with dealing with early learners that are picky eaters. I believe that my son and his parents would have both benefited!
