Dental Care for One Year Olds

Baby smiling at camera showing off new teeth

Let's talk one-year-olds for a bit—specifically dental care. Delta Dental of South Dakota recommends that your baby visit the dentist by age one or within six months after the first tooth comes in. Visiting the dentist by age 1 helps you:

  •  Get to know the dentist.
  •  Learn how to prevent cavities that cause your child pain and severe health problems.
  •  Know who to call if your child has an emergency.
  •  Save money by learning healthy habits and catching problems early.
