Put Sunday, April 30th, and Monday, May 1st, on your calendar as the days to audition for the Sturgis Area Arts Council's summer musical, “Nunsense II: The Second Coming.” Auditions will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 1061 Sherman Street in Sturgis, from 6:00-8:00 pm both evenings. No advance preparation is needed, but actors will be asked to read from the script and learn and sing a song from the show.

Available parts portraying the Sisters of Hoboken will include: Sister Mary Paul (formerly known as Amnesia ever since a crucifix hit her on the head and she lost her memory), Sister Mary Leo (on roller skates and still wanting to be the first nun ballerina), Sister Robert Anne (the tough character from Brooklyn), Sister Mary Hubert (Mistress of the Novices), and of course, Sister Mary Regina (the Mother Superior). This large cast edition also offers parts for Father Virgil, Sisters Mary Wilhelm (convent nurse), Julia, Child of God (convent cook), Mary Brendan (teacher), Mary Luke (teacher), Brother Timothy, and a chorus of other nuns, brothers, priests, and students. We need many to fill the minor roles/chorus.

Rehearsals will usually run from 6:30-8:30 pm, Mondays-Thursdays, May 2-June 21. Performances are Thursday-Saturday, June 22-24 at 7 pm, and Sunday, June 25 at 2 pm. Minimal absences are expected. You won’t want to miss being a part of this hilarious production.

Volunteers are welcomed to help with costumes and set building and painting. Please come to the auditions and let us know you’re interested in helping with any of these.
