Carrie Days

Carrie Days
Since 1983, the Keystone Historical Museum has housed artifacts from Carrie Ingalls Swanzey and both her Ingalls and Swanzey families. Carrie was a Keystone resident from 1911 until her death in 1946. On August 3rd, 2024, it will be Carrie’s 154th birthday. Because of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, we are celebrating Carrie’s birthday on July 26th, 27th, and 28th, 2024, in Historic Keystone. During Carrie’s life and even after her death, Carrie gave to our community. We would like to honor Carrie, come and help us celebrate.
During this weekend, we will highlight the Keystone School venue by providing tours and talks, a “Little Miss Carrie” lookalike contest, a Spelling Bee,” Where’s Carrie” activity, the First Congregational Church of Keystone (Carrie’s Church) will have a historical display and Church service, and other activities for families to experience. We will highlight all of Keystone, by providing a map showing important sites related to Carrie and her husband, David Swanzey, just look for the banners. We will also be providing cupcakes and lemonade. The First Congregational Church of Keystone will be open to guests, Friday, July 26th 9am to 10am, Saturday, July 27th 9am to 10am and Sunday, July 28th 9am, Church Service 10am and open till 12pm.
