The Denise J. Du Broy Collection in an exhibition at the Dahl Arts Center, running from May 31 to August 24. This inaugural display of the Du Broy Collection offers a rare opportunity for the community to experience the newest additions to the permanent collection at the Dahl Arts Center.

The Du Broy Collection was established in 2023 to honor the significant contributions of Rapid City artist and former Dahl curator and gallery director, Denise Du Broy. Following a successful career as a studio artist and many years volunteering with RCAC, Du Broy served as curator and Gallery Director at the Dahl from 2011 to 2023, curating over 200 exhibitions and elevating the work of thousands of regional artists. Her visionary leadership expanded the permanent collection at the Dahl by over 150 pieces, ensuring that the community will have access to a diverse collection of works representing the talent and artistic innovation of the region for generations to come.

Comprising pieces by an array of contemporary artists, the Du Broy Collection features works created and generously donated by regional artists such as Lynn Thorpe, Roger Broer, Dan Tackett, Steve Babbitt, Angela Babby, Dwayne Wilcox, Michael Baum, Anna Achtziger, J. Desy Schoenewies, Marty Two Bulls, Jr, Loy Allen, Jean Selvy-Wyss, Don Montileaux, Tim Peterson, Quintin Owens, and Becky Grismer.

The community is invited to the opening reception for the Du Broy Collection on Friday, May 31, from 5pm to 7pm at the Dahl Arts Center. The exhibition gallery will also be open with free admission Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
