After a two-year hiatus, the Sturgis Area Arts Council’s summer musical is back and ready to treat everyone to the 1972 Broadway musical “Pippin”, with book written by Roger O. Hirson and Bob Fosse and music by Stephen Schwartz. The story – A traveling troupe of actors invites the audience to witness the story of a young Prince searching for a way to live an extraordinary life. Pippin’s journey begins by going to war with his father, Charlemagne. Pippin then runs to his grandmother for advice, and she tells him to just enjoy life. Pippin later becomes king, and finally discovers what life is really all about through a young mother, Catherine, and her son, Theo. The Lead Player guides the cast along, promising to end the show with the greatest finale ever seen on stage. However, things don’t always go as planned.... Performances of “Pippin” are: Thursday, June 16th at 7:00pm Friday, June 17th at 7:00pm Saturday, June 18th at 7:00pm Sunday, June 19th Matinee at 2:00pm All performances are at the Sturgis Community Center Theater Admission is $15 for Adults - $10 for Seniors - $5 for Students and free for little ones age 5 and younger.
