HAHA Plein Air "Hermosa Art Out"
Hermosa Arts and History Association presents our 2nd Annual "Hermosa Art Out" -- an art competition with pictures painted in Hermosa, South Dakota, or within a 25-mile radius of the HAHA Museum.
Artists are invited to compete, starting Thursday, October 2. The general public is invited to view the art and vote for People's Choice Awards on Saturday, October 4 at the HAHA Museum.
Thursday, September 25 --
Registration deadline.
Thursday, October 2 --
Artists check in between 8-10 am.
Begin painting "en plein air" (outside) within 25 miles of the town of Hermosa.
Friday, October 3 --
Continue painting at the same place or at new locations.
Saturday, October 4 --
Artists may continue to paint Saturday morning, as long as artwork is framed and ready to be hung in the HAHA Museum between noon and 1 pm.
Viewing and voting by the public, as well as sales of the art, will take place through the afternoon, during a HAHA Museum open house. All artwork must be displayed until the end of the show and reception on Saturday.
Artists are encouraged to spend the afternoon at the HAHA Museum for conversation with each other and the public.
An artists' reception and the People's Choice Awards, with cash prizes for the top three vote-getters, will take place between 4 and 6 pm.
