Screening of Oyate Woyaka: The People Speak

Join SDPB and The Journey Museum for a special screening of Oyate Woyaka: The People Speak. This documentary looks at the story of Lakota language loss and the efforts to revitalize it. It is told from the perspective of Lakota elders, who share their vision for the future of the Lakota Nation.

This event is free and open to the public. Prior to the film, enjoy a light meal from Fork Real, and stay after for a discussion with Lakota Elders and the film maker.

Schedule of Event:

5:30 pm - Doors open and food is served from Fork Real
6:30 pm - Theatre opens
6:45 pm - Welcome prayer and screening of film
7:45 pm - Panel discussion
8:15 pm - Program ends
This documentary premieres on April 4, 2024 on SDPB.
