Driver sought in fatal Sioux Falls hit-and-run crash

Sioux Falls police are looking for a driver they say was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash.

Police spokesperson Sam Clemens said the victim's car got stuck in a ditch in northwestern Sioux Falls Friday night. The driver got out and was attempting to get his vehicle out of the ditch when he was struck and killed by a pickup.

Authorities identified the victim as a 24-year-old Mission man.

Clemens said police found the pickup involved in the crash but are still looking for the driver.

Weather conditions likely played a role in the incident, Clemens said. Strong winds resulted in blowing snow and poor road conditions across much of the region Friday.
