A Yankton man has been sentenced to 85 years in prison for his role in a 2022 shooting death.
Trevor Wayne Harrison was sentenced in Yankton County Court Monday after pleading guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter.
Harrison was indicted in the shooting death of his former girlfriend. He will also be forced to pay restitution to surviving family.
Attorney General Marty Jackley, the highest-ranking law enforcement officer in the state, said he hopes this sentence brings closure to both the case and family members of the victim.
