The man charged in the death of a transgender Rapid City woman has pleaded not guilty.
Fifty-three-year-old Gregory Landers is charged with manslaughter in the death of Acey Morrison.
Landers was indicted in the death about a year-and-a-half after Morrison was shot at Landers’ residence in August of 2022.
Landers admits to the shooting but says it was in self-defense.
Manslaughter is punishable by up to life in prison. Landers also faces drug and firearm charges.
He is due to next appear in court April 23.
