The Pennington County Sherriff Office is warning the public about scam calls regarding missed jury duty.

In a Facebook post, the sheriff's office said scammers claiming to be with the agency are falsely asking people to pay for fines or judgements with gift cards.

The office said although they can take payment over the phone on most warrants, it is not typical. Individuals would be asked to settle a warrant fee in person. They do not accept gift cards.

If you receive a suspicious phone call, hang up and call law enforcement.
