A man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges in a Rapid City homicide is receiving the maximum sentence.

Andrew Bissonette, 43, admitted to killing Andrew Bear Robe during his April trial. Bear Robe was found dead in a Rapid City garage in March of 2021.

The Pennington County State's Attorney's office said due to Bissonette’s criminal history, including killing a Pine Ridge man in 2012, the maximum 15-year sentence is being applied.

He is also receiving a four-year sentence for assaulting a police officer in a different incident.
