South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley.

Attorney General Marty Jackley is challenging a Biden Administration voter registration Executive Order.

Biden signed the order in 2021. It calls for federal agencies to promote voter registration and participation.

Jackley, along with other seven other attorneys general, argue voter registration is a state function and responsibility.

He called it an “overreach” by the federal government.

South Dakota Secretary of State Monae Johnson is supporting the lawsuit against the order.
