The state Unified Judicial System is launching a new website for people to pay court fees, fines, costs and restitutions online.
The UJS said the website is more user-friendly and makes it easier and faster to locate court cases and make a payment.
New court cases may not be available for online payments for up to 14 days. It can take 24 to 48 hours for the court to receive payments submitted online.
The biggest change is that users can search by using a last name and date of birth. Previously, users had to know their citation number or court case number to find the balance due and make payments online. Users still have the option search by citation or case number on the new website.
Anyone that does not pay a citation before a specified court and does not appear in court may be issued a warrant for failure to appear.
Payments on cases with an active warrant or if the case has been sent to the collection agency cannot be made.
