A Manderson man has been indicted for felony murder and arson.

Fifty-one-year-old Reno Rondeau is pleading not guilty to the charges.

He faces life in prison for the murder charge.

The US Attorney’s Office District of South Dakota said Rondeau intentionally set fire to his brother’s home in Manderson.

Rondeau allegedly knew the home was occupied by his brother and his brother’s friend. His brother’s friend died in the fire. Rondeau’s brother suffered burn injuries but escaped the flames.

The residence was destroyed in the fire.

A trial date has not been set for the case.
