A South Dakota man is convicted of conspiracy to distribute meth across the state.

Forty-five-year-old Christopher Spider faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years and a $10 million fine.

He is also convicted of tampering with a witness.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office District of South Dakota says Spider was responsible for distributing 30 pounds of meth throughout the Crow Creek Indian Reservation.

While under indictment, he sent a letter to another witness trying to intimidate the witness into changing her testimony at trial.

U.S. Attorney Alison Ramsdell said he was part of “one of the largest methamphetamine conspiracies in South Dakota history.”
