South Dakota Department of Corrections officials are notifying the public about the release of an inmate they consider “high-risk.”
Thirty-year-old Glenn Waege is being released Friday after serving his full sentence for solicitation of a minor in Clark County as well as failure to register as a sex offender in Codington County.
Waege is being released in Montana.
Secretary of Corrections Kellie Wasko said the department issues public warnings like this when they’re releasing an inmate they believe is at high risk of re-offending. This is determined based on institutional assessments and criminal history.
Since 2011, the Department of Corrections has issued a total of 18 public notices of pending high-risk offender releases. This is the third such release of 2025.
