Katie Anderson has been named South Dakota's 2013 Teacher of the Year. Anderson teaches science and reading at East Middle School in Rapid City. Part of her award is a technology package valued at $11,000 to use in her classroom. She'll represent South Dakota as a candidate for the National Teacher of the Year award. The National Teacher of the Year is announced during a special ceremony in Washington, D.C., each April.
