School Superintendents Respond To Survey

USD

South Dakota school superintendents responding to a survey say low pay is an important reason as to why they are having trouble hiring and keeping teachers.  A total of 130 school superintendents responded to the survey sponsored by the Associated School Boards of South Dakota and the School Administrators of South Dakota.  The organizations are using the survey to help persuade the South Dakota Legislature to boost state aid to schools.  They collaborated with Dr. Mark Baron to do an independent survey focusing on teacher shortage and adequacy issues.  Baron was joined by Harrisburg Superintendent Jim Holbeck as they discussed the survey on Dakota Midday.
