Tuesday is the last day on the job for Sioux Falls superintendent Pam Homan. She’s retiring after 11 years leading the district. Kearney, Nebraska public schools superintendent Brian Maher replaces her in July.
During Homan's tenure, Sioux Falls public schools added more than 3,400 students as the district grew in both size and diversity. She helped establish and expand specialty schools and alternative programs, including Spanish immersion, the Career and Technical Academy and New Tech High. Five new schools were also built, with the newest, Susan B. Anthony Elementary opening its doors in the fall.
Superintendent Homan joined Dakota Midday and discussed her time leading the Sioux Falls school district.
