Fifteen Aberdeen Teachers are receiving first-year teacher grants.

The Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation is gifting each teacher $200.

The foundation said the grants are used to purchase supplies and items for their new classrooms.

A recent study found the average teacher spends more than $600 out of their own pocket on classroom supplies.
