An Aberdeen teacher received the Milken Educator Award and a hefty $25,000 check.
Roncalli Middle/Senior High School teacher Dan Gallagher received the surprise award from state Secretary of Education Joe Graves and Milken Awards Vice President Jennifer Fuller at a school assembly.
Graves said Gallagher is “a living example of what excellence in teaching looks like,” citing Gallagher’s inspirational leadership, high standards, exceptional support and student accountability.
A Northern State University graduate, Gallagher joins more than 3,000 Milken Educators spanning the award’s nearly 40-year history.
