Northern State University and the state Board of Regents are officially starting their search for a new university president.
The position has been held by Laurie Nichols since the departure of Neil Schnoor earlier this year. Schnoor now serves as the chancellor of the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
Nichols was named to the role on an interim basis after serving as president of Black Hills State University.
The application period runs through late September, and a candidate will likely be named in the following months.
