Mines, Western Dakota Tech sign articulation agreement

South Dakota Mines and Western Dakota Technical College are partnering to offer students another pathway toward an engineering degree.

The presidents of each college signed an articulation agreement Wednesday. School leaders say this ensures a smooth transfer of credits for students from Western Dakota Tech's environmental engineering technician program into Mines’ bachelor degree in civil engineering.

“As a university, we are committed to making high-quality education more accessible and building strong partnerships with our community colleges and technical schools,” Mines President Brian Tande said. “This provides a seamless transfer into Mines as they advance their education and careers in science and engineering.”

Mines has similar partnerships with place with other colleges, including an agreement signed with Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls this spring.
