New stamps commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act

This interview originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

The Endangered Species Act was signed into law 50 years ago. To commemorate the act and raise awareness for current endangered species, the Postal Service released new stamps featuring 20 species.

The Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls participates in conservation efforts for two of the featured species.

Zoo CEO Becky Dewitz discusses the zoo's efforts to protect the tenacious black-footed ferret and the red wolf, as well as a disappearing South Dakota pollinator.
