Jennifer Zavaleta Cheek, Ph.D., completed her dietary diversity study in eastern India.

This interview originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

Jennifer Zavaleta Cheek, Ph.D., headed to eastern India to lead a nutritional study into the benefits of wild-grown food. She sought to quantify the diversity that foraging can bring to a diet.

Dr. Zavaleta Cheek joins In the Moment to discuss the study, its findings and the unique challenges of conducting long-term, multicultural research.

Plus, what can her research reveal about South Dakotans who hunt or forage?

Dr. Zavaleta Cheek is an assistant professor in the Department of Natural Resource Management at South Dakota State University.
