River levels at Falls Park in Sioux Falls remained elevated Monday, June 24.

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation officials said several parks along the southern recreation trail loop and several sections of the trail are closed until further notice.

This is due to flooding and cleanup efforts around the city.

These closures impact recreation programs and leagues, but Parks and Rec staff will contact registered participants directly.

“Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation prioritizes the safety of our community. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore full access to our parks and trails,” Brett Kollars, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, said. “For your safety, please respect all trail and park closures and do not bypass barricades.”

A live map with the latest park and recreation trail closures is available at siouxfalls.gov/flood.
