Grants available for forest landowners looking to adapt to changing climates

The USDA’s Forest Service is making $190 million available to help private forest landowners nationwide.

According to the department, over 60% of forests in the United State are managed by landowners.

There are two grant options available. One is available to support state-endorsed cost-share programs for landowners. The other issues payments directly to landowners.

Both grants are available for private forest landowners who are wanting to adopt practices that increase carbon sequestration or improve forest resilience.
