The SD Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources is accepting applications for eligible clean water grant projects.
The grant money stems from a section of the federal Clean Water Act that aims to reduce water pollution from runoff from urban, agricultural, and forest lands.
Eligible applicants include governmental agencies, water development districts, federally recognized Indian tribes and more.
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grants require a forty percent local match of funds.
Applications are due the first of October.
The DANR also encourages communities, tribes, and non-profit organizations to apply for forestry grant initiatives.
The Community Forestry Grant program offers solutions to solve specific community forestry problems. The funds when awarded must be used for trees or tree management on public land or in public right of ways.
Interested parties must submit applications by October 4.
